Chimney Corner U11s 1 Northend United U11s 2 Monday 16th May 2011
This midweek game was played in poor conditions with heavy rain and a strong wind but this did not dampen both team's spirit as this match turned out to be a cracker with the winners being crowned League Champions.
The game started with Northend in control and doing most of the pressing and felt they should have had a penalty as early as the second minute when James O'Loughlin cut inside his marker and pushed the ball past him and the Ballyclare player tripped him but the referee waved play on to the amazement of the Northend line.
Against the run of play Ballyclare went up the field and scored when their right winger received the ball down the line and played a great pass to the big Ballyclare striker who had got himself into a great position to coolly slot past Josh Mark in the Northend goal.
The game then went from box to box with Northend looking for a equalizer and Ballyclare trying to extend their lead and Northend had a lot of good chances to score with Bell and Stevenson missing when well positioned.
Northend won a corner which James Hayburn played into the back post which caused panic in the Ballyclare box and Jamie Stevenson was on hand to smash his shot into the bottom corner to the delight of the United team. The score was to stay level at half-time.
Northend came out for the second-half fired up and were playing well with Stevenson and Kuba taking control of midfield and the defence of Campbell, Stock, Dobbin and Hayburn where cutting out the balls played over the top and were also confident with the ball at their feet to take on the Ballyclare strikers and pass to the midfield and wide players.
Northend went infront after they had Ballyclare pinned in their own half and Daniel Bell won the ball at the edge of the eighteen and passed to his strike partner Brandon Millar who side stepped two Ballyclare players and struck an unbelievable shot into the top corner to put United 2-1 up.
Northend had chance after chance to extend their lead but just could not find the back of the net. As the match went on, Ballyclare were starting to creep back into the game so Northend brought on fresh legs with Jordan Adams and Anthony Shaw coming on. Indeed it was Adams who kept Northend in the game when from a Ballyclare corner in the last few minutes, Mark in goal made a great save but could only parry it towards goal but Jordan Adams was there to clear the ball of the line and Northend held on to win their first silverware of the year by clinching the Championship.
A great team performance and all at the club would like to congratulate the Northend United U11s on winning the U11 Championship with a team that has been completely rebuilt from last season.

Ballyclare Comrades U11s 4 Northend United U11s 3 Saturday 7th May 2011
Northend had to win this game to reach the Plate Final and they got of to a great start when Daniel Bell played a great pass to Jamie Stevenson who tucked the ball into the far corner after six minutes.
The game turned in Ballyclare's favour when the referee awarded them a penalty to the amazement of the Northend line and the Ballyclare line as they did not shout for one after Jordon Stock made a fantastic tackle and clearly won the ball.
Ballyclare levelled the score from the resulting penalty then scored two more before half-time as the Northend boys heads dropped, leaving the half-time score 3-1 to Ballyclare
Northend for the second game in a row came back into the game with goals from Graham McCartney and Jamie Stevenson and pushed Ballyclare all the way but again the referee made another bad decision when McCartney was hurt badly after a late tackle but he awarded Ballyclare a corner instead from which they got the winner.
This was a great performance from the whole U11 team who now must now beat Ballyclare Comrades next week to win the Belfast and East Antrim Championship.

Chimney Corner U11s 2 Northend United U11s 2 Saturday 30th April 2011
Northend needed to get all three points in this mid-week game at Mallusk to be in with a good chance of winning the Championship but it started to wrong as early as the tenth minute when a mix up at the back allowed the Chimney Corner player to run through and score then they won a penalty to make the score two nil.
Northend got back into the game when Daniel Bell got his twentieth goal of the season just before half-time, leaving the score 2-1 to Chimney Corner
Northend came out a different team and had Chimney Corner pinned in their own half but as in the first half they could not hit the back of the net with Bell, Shaw and Millar missing good chances.
With the clock ticking Daniel Bell got his second goal to draw Northend level and then they went looking for the winner, but they just couldn't find it with McCartney hitting the cross-bar and O'Loughlin sending a twenty five yard shot just wide. Then they missed a penalty in the last minute. A fantastic second half performance from all the U11 team but they must pick up maximum points in their remaining three games.

Northend United U11s 3 Carnmoney Colts U11s 3 Monday 18th April 2011
Northend fell behind to Carnmoney in the twenty minute but it was against the run of play with Northend dominating the game with Jamie Stevenson and Daniel Bell having lots of shots at the Colts keeper but they just couldn't hit the back of the net.
Northend were still controlling the game and Millar should have levelled the score when Anthony Shaw played a great pass across goal. Daniel Bell scored in a scramble in the six yard box just before half-time.
Two minutes into the second half Jamie Stevenson put United 2-1 up when he scored a brilliant individual goal. Carnmoney were then awarded a free kick and scored from it to level the score again.
The game was now moving from end to end but Daniel Bell then came up with another brilliant goal when he took on two Colts players then cracked a unstoppable shot pass the keeper to put Northend 3-2 up.

Northend United U11s 2 Cavehill Colts U11s 3 Saturday 16th April 2011
Northend got nothing from this game which they dominated for long periods other than two fantastic goals by Daniel Bell. The game started well for Northend with Jamie Stevenson causing Cavehill lots of problems with his attacking runs and his link up play with Brandon Millar allowing him to get in behind the Cavehill defence but the keeper was quick out of his goals forcing his shots wide or making saves when on target. Northend went infront when Stevenson pulled the ball back across the goal for Bell to drive his shot high into the roof of the net.
Northend were well in control and should of added more goals before Cavehill got a life-line when one of their players chased a long ball into Northend's box and tamely shot at Marks in goals and as he went to grab it the ball hit a divot and flew over him and into the net to leave the score 1-1 at half-time.
Northend changed their shape and were more attacking minded with Kuba Babuszewski in midfield breaking play up and passing balls to the three front players and Daniel Bell scored another cracker when his first shot was blocked and when it was played back to him he lobbed the ball into the far corner from twenty yards to put Northend in front again.
Cavehill pulled a goal back when they scored from a corner and they then got the winner when their midfielder volleyed a long ball up field catching the Northend defence out for their striker to round the keeper and score their third with only minutes remaining. This was a cruel blow for Northend as they had played so well.

Greenisland U11s 1 Northend United U11s 5 Saturday 2nd April 2011
Northend started this game in a determinant mood when they raced into a three goal lead with Daniel Bell scoring in the second minute and further goals by Aaron Campbell and the goal of the game coming from Jordon Adams who finished of a five man move when he side stepped the last defender and chipped the ball into the far corner. Daniel Bell then scored two more goals to complete his hat-trick just before half-time.
Northend were finding it hard to get back into this game as they had lost their shape as the team went looking for more goals and Greenisland took advantage of this and pulled a goal back with their only shot of the game. Northend could have scored more goals but their finishing in the second half was not to the standard of the first half and ran out 5-1 winners.
